We hear the term Pelvic Floor, and it is thrown around as if we are all experts about how it looks, performs, concerns, solutions, etc…. It was my personal frustration, lack of understanding and concerns that prompted me to pursue Pelvic Floor Yoga. I wanted to offer a way for women to understand their anatomy, how it functions in their body and take away the idea that leaking and other concerns are “normal” as we age, after childbirth, trauma, etc…
What if with knowledge, awareness and simple practices we could be empowered to strengthen and heal our pelvic floor? Now for those with medical conditions doctors and specialists are where you need to start.
I believe that Pelvic Floor Yoga can benefit those who want to learn more and support the health of their pelvic area.
What to expect:
Learn the anatomy of the pelvic floor, it’s function, how yours responds. The power of breath and awareness when working with the pelvic floor. Yoga poses to strengthen, tone, rebuild elasticity, release tension, build a healthy pelvic area.
Our program length is 4 weekly 45-60 minute sessions. We will gather on Tuesday's 11am-12pm. You have the option to come to my home in Spirit Lake or attend virtually via Zoom. Please let me know prior to class if you will attend in person or virtually. This will allow me to customize the setup. Camera will be exclusively on the instructor. Classes will not be recorded unless previously agreed upon. This is an interactive series. Bring your questions and I encourage you to actively participate for the best results.
To help guide instruction attached is a Pelvic Floor Initial Survey to complete 24 hours prior to our first session.
Our first session is Tuesday, April 21st. All participants will receive the Zoom link 24 hours or more prior to the session.
Equipment: yoga mat, yoga block, strap, blankets, bolsters(optional), small 5in ball(optional and can be purchased at the dollar store). If attending at my home you will just need a yoga mat. I have the rest of the equipment.
After our series you will receive a survey to fill out that will support the growth and direction of my Pelvic Floor Yoga program.
Thank you for participating and taking the time to learn more about your marvelous body!
